Local businesswoman, Lucille Lee approached then Bishop of Mandeville Paul Boyle in 1998. She offered some family land in Maggotty to the Catholic Church if the Bishop would arrange for a church to be built there. Soon after, Father Marek Bzinkowski and Father Andrew Beltowski both Polish missionary priests, arrived and set about converting a shed and goat pen into a temporary chapel and living quarters. They raised funds from all over the world to build a church and rectory.
